Validation
AI for @dvanced Planning and Operation Scheduling and Tuning
The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in production is an emerging development field but the following needs to be answered: (i) how can AI algorithms be used to solve real-world problems on the shop floor and (ii) how should they be optimally deployed from the operations environment to the cloud. There is also the challenge of bringing together the necessary Information Technologies/AI and Operational Technologies knowledge to converge production domain knowledge with AI models and applications and enable this development.
The project includes the following partial objectives:
- A clear definition of specifications and requirements.
Design and experimental tests to determine the relevant factors for the modelling and development of algorithms. - Technological development and integration of the solution, designing and creating a data warehouse that will effectively treat the collected data and integrate it with the AI-driven system (Collection of data, Pre-processing and cleaning of data, Selection and creation of appropriate data features: feature engineering, selection of a family of suitable models,
- Optimize hyper-parameters of Machine Learning or Deep Learning models, Post-processing, iterate and evaluate the generated AI models, Deploy model learning)
- Validation of the implemented system.
- Dissemination actions, training sessions and the exploitable results will be verified, carrying out IP management including the proposal of protection mechanisms, if applicable.
This SME-driven experiment will use AI for Business Intelligence (BI) to be applied on manufacturing site. The experiment will contribute to populate the portfolio of “AI for manufacturing” solutions focused on processes & management to enrich the AI on demand platform with a novel Case Study. The experiment will aim at contributing Industry 5.0 and Human-AI interaction in the SME site. The experiment will be conducted in Vanguard regions (Basque Country and Navarra, both in Spain) and is fully aligned with their smart specialization strategy, which considers Smart Industry as the main smart specialization area that encompasses 15.4% of Added Value and 14.0% of jobs.
